Manchester United midfielder Hannibal Mejbri may move on this summer according to reports in his homeland.

We can expect to see a number of outgoings at Old Trafford this summer as Erik ten Hag continues to shape his squad.

It may be time for the likes of Harry Maguire and Brandon Williams to move on whilst question marks surround Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial.

There are a number of young players whose futures are up in the air, from Amad Diallo to Zidane Iqbal with more loans no doubt considered.

Then there is midfielder Hannibal, who is coming back from a season-long loan spell at Birmingham City.

Nearly 2000 minutes of Championship action will have helped Hannibal’s development and he was able to bag one goal as well as five assists.

Hannibal even featured for Tunisia at the World Cup, so this has been a positive season for the midfielder.

Yet as he prepares for pre-season under Ten Hag, Hannibal’s future at Old Trafford is being brought into question.

Hannibal Mejbri linked with permanent Manchester United exit

Reports from Ettachkila over in Tunisia now report that Hannibal may leave United this summer.

They suggest that Hannibal is tempted to leave United on a permanent deal this summer.

It’s claimed that Hannibal knows he isn’t going to get first-team minutes at Old Trafford and is now tempted to leave.

United don’t want to lose Hannibal but would allegedly green light a deal worth between €15million and €20million (£13million and £17million).

Whilst we can understand Hannibal’s desire to play, it’s worth remembering that he isn’t even 21 until January.

The former Monaco talent has just had his first season of regular action and it’s a big ask to go from Birmingham straight into the United side.

Another loan – preferably to a top-flight league like the Bundesliga or Eredivisie – would be ideal, giving Hannibal even more preparation for the United side.

If Hannibal really is desperate to leave then United must push for a buy-back clause in any sale.

Hannibal clearly has big potential and United should have plans for him to wear the famous red shirt in the coming years.
