Manchester United take on Real Sociedad this week, taking on a side who already acknowledge they are outmatched by the Red Devils.
Two Real Sociedad players have given interviews this week ahead of Thursday night’s tie, acknowledging United’s superior spending power, and ability the last time the two teams played.
The Spanish side are ninth in La Liga after four games, with two wins, one draw and one defeat.
This Thursday night they travel to Old Trafford for the opening game of the Europa League campaign.

Real Sociedad stars rave about Manchester United
Right-back Andoni Gorosabel told AS says Sociedad plan to compete but recognise Manchester United are on another level, off the pitch.
He said: “The name says it all. And what they have been able to spend, apart from the team they already had, Cristiano Ronaldo included, is another level. They are on another level from us. That’s how it is.
“But then you have to go out and play, and on the field everything is even. But by name, players and budget they are a level above ours. We will compete and see what happens. We are not afraid of anything.”
Goalkeeper Remiro told AS he is fearful of a repeat of the 4-0 loss Sociedad suffered in Turin back in 2021.
He does not want his side to capitulate in the same way, recognising how United blew them away.
Remiro said: “If they are going to beat us, they should not run over us, because from that game that year against United I had a very bad feeling.
“They physically ran over us, they were very strong and very fast. And we do not want that to be repeated, logically.”
Real Sociedad are visiting United at a bad time, with the Red Devils recording four successive victories.
In their favour, perhaps, is that United are being tipped to rotate the team, potentially removing some of the synergy we have seen in the last few performances.
It’s important for United to get off to a strong start in the group, and lay down a statement with a win over Sociedad, who are considered to be the best of the other three teams.
