A former Manchester United star and boss are about to link up, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Jose Mourinho is set to reunite with Romelu Lukaku, with the Belgian striker set for a loan move to AS Roma.

This will be the third club the duo have linked up at, having spent time together in the Premier League with both Manchester United and Chelsea.

Now Lukaku will seemingly try his luck in Italy for the second time, having previously had spells with Inter Milan.

Re-United: Lukaku to Roma

As reported by the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, Lukaku is edging closer to a loan move to Rome, which will see him and Mourinho reunite once more.

The Italian journalist reported that negotiating with Lukaku’s camp in order to reach an agreement on salary coverage and a pay cut, which was a huge problem for Chelsea when trying to ship Rom out this summer.

It is also believed that the man himself has been in contact with Mourinho, who is keen to get the deal over the line.

Rom will be a hated man in Milan

The Daily Mail reported that Inter Milan ultras accused Lukaku of ‘betraying the club’ amid links with Serie A rivals Juventus, so moving to Roma will be just as bad.

Inter were expected to resign Lukaku after his loan move last season, but it was reported that the Belgian snubbed Simone Inzaghi’s side after being benched in the Champions League final last season.

Lukaku will have to watch his back when the two sides meet in the Serie A, the atmosphere will definitely be hostile.

That is, if he signs. There’s still a long way to go in the process. With complications to do with his wage, this could easily fall through. Let’s see if anything gets over the line.
