Manchester United’s new striker signing Rasmus Hojlund looks set to feature against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.

The Danish forward’s number has yet to be revealed but it has now been confirmed, via United’s post on X, that the 20-year-old striker will wear the number 11 shirt.

The former Atalanta forward has yet to feature for United this season due to a back issue which has stopped him from making his debut for Erik ten Hag’s side.

Hojlund will seemingly have a baptism of fire this afternoon as Arsenal, who were involved in a thrilling title race last season, have a good recent home record against the Red Devils.

Hojlund’s pressure debut

The Dane, who has admitted it was his dream to join United when the transfer was announced last month, will certainly not get an easy game today and may well be limited in terms of the chances he gets today.

The forward excels with chances in the area but, traditionally, United have struggled to sustain attacks in away games against the Premier League’s top six.

Hojlund will be hoping that he can get off the mark against the Gunners, similar to how Antony did last season after his big-money move to the club.

Amrabat’s number unknown

One new signing, who also joined the club on deadline day, Sofyan Amrabat has strangely not received a number yet from United.

The Moroccan midfielder joined United on loan with an option inserted in the deal to make the move permanent next summer.

It seems the midfielder will learn his shirt number soon with United saying: “There will be a further update on Sofyan Amrabat’s shirt number in due course.”

One number that is available for Amrabat is the number 4 shirt. The Moroccan donned that number during their successful 2022 World Cup campaign so it is likely that the midfielder will want the number which was previously worn by Phil Jones for United.
