Rasmus Hojlund shared a heartfelt moment with one player after the Manchester United striker’s impact in Denmark’s Nations League tie with Portugal on Thursday.
Patrick Dorgu, Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen are all away from Old Trafford on international duty with the Denmark national team for the March break.
Hojlund was placed on the bench for Denmark’s crucial first-leg quarter-final encounter against Portugal at the Parken in Copenhagen on Thursday evening.
The 22-year-old Manchester United striker climbed off the bench and Hojlund broke the deadlock – and found the winner – for Denmark in the Nations League match.
Portugal were unable to climb back into the contest before the full-time whistle and Hojlund’s second-half opener was the difference-maker for Denmark on the night.
Hojlund copied Cristiano Ronaldo by producing the Portugal and United legend’s iconic ‘si’ celebration after he scored at the Parken in Copenhagen.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted what Man Utd star Rasmus Hojlund did after Denmark vs Portugal
Rasmus Hojlund has endured his struggles at Old Trafford in the 2024-25 campaign and the Manchester United star only recently ended his goalscoring drought.
The Denmark international went 21 matches in a row before he finally found the back of the net in United’s 3-0 win over Leicester City in the Premier League.
Hojlund has only scored three times in 24 Premier League matches this season and the Denmark striker has netted five times in 10 Europa League fixtures.
Ruben Amorim has kept faith with Hojlund amid his goalscoring woes and has backed the United striker to return to his best form under him.
Hojlund showed a true touch of class after Denmark’s 1-0 Nations League win over Portugal by embracing Bruno Fernandes after the full-time whistle.
One user on X, formerly known as Twitter, shared footage of Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes before the latter embraced Hojlund and the pair exchanged a hug.
Both Hojlund and Fernandes could be seen sharing words during their heartfelt moment, with Portugal and Denmark now set to meet on Sunday for the return leg.
Ruben Amorim’s words speak volumes about his faith in Denmark and Man Utd striker Rasmus Hojlund
Speaking after United’s result against Leicester City last Sunday, Red Devils manager Ruben Amorim praised Hojlund for his performance ahead of the March break.
“It is a difficult goal, a difficult control [with] the right foot,” he said, as per Manchester United’s official website.
“So, it’s a shame we are going to stop for [the] national teams. But he will return with confidence.
“It’s [also] just one win away and we have to continue when we return.”
Portugal and Denmark’s second-leg Nations League quarter-final tie is slated for 7:45pm UK time at Sporting CP’s Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon.
