Rasmus Hojlund has sent a message to United fans following his debut performance against Arsenal – which unfortunately ended in defeat.

Manchester United were really unlucky tonight. The match at the Emirates finished 3-1 to Arsenal, but really didn’t reflect the performance the Red Devils put in.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring before Martin Odegaard swiftly equalised. Two late goals from Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus were enough to ensure the Gunners got all three points on the night.

One bright spark in the unfortunate defeat was debutant Rasmus Hojlund. The Danish striker looked lively on his first outing for United. He had a message for fans following the first of many in a red shirt.

Rasmus Hojlund sends message to United fans

The forward took to Instagram to reflect on what was a bittersweet day for the 20-year-old.

The post read: ‘So proud to make my debut for @manchesterunited the Dream became a reality❤️ Unlucky with the result today… but we Will bounce back after the international break. Now focus on 🔜🇩🇰’.

One thing to take from the loss, United now have a proper centre-forward once again.

The boisterous Dane put himself about during his cameo and was a breath of fresh air up top. He wat latching onto loose balls, putting himself up against Arsenal defenders and linking up play. He looked really good.

Despite all his doubts, the short stint showed Hojlund’s undeniable qualities for United. At such a young age, he’s going to develop and thrive at the club. It’s massively exciting.

We now have an international break, but United will be back in action on September 16th as they face Brighton at home. Let’s go in with a positive mindset.
