Lisandro Martinez has been a fine pick-up for Manchester United.
Out of Erik ten Hag’s 16 signings during his tenure at Old Trafford, it’s argued that Lisandro Martinez is up there as the very best.
The Argentine was heavily scrutinized on his arrival in Manchester. They believed his height was going to be a problem for the Premier League. He soon proved that wrong.
Martinez, also dubbed as ‘The Butcher’, is now known as one of Manchester United‘s toughest players, despite his stature. That’s why Rasmus Hojlund is walking on thin ice with a comment he made to him.

Rasmus Hojlund sends Lisandro Martinez a birthday message
It was Martinez’s birthday on Thursday, with the former Ajax centre-half turning 26.
Manchester United’s official Instagram account messaged Manchester United players to get them to send a message to Martinez, stating what gift they’d send to him.
The Danish striker Hojlund decided to be very cheeky with his answer. He simply responded with three words – ‘a sparring partner’.
Despite this evidently being a joke, we’re not so sure the £64m striker would win if he took Martinez on in a scrap…

Hojlund playing a dangerous game…
Martinez is definitely more than competent in a fight. Such is the way of South American players, he has a bit of bite to him.
Hojlund is a big, strong lad for his age – however, we are not sure what his chances would be with the intimidating centre-back. Martinez did seem to love it, however, with him replying with a laughing emoji on the post.

Martinez has just returned from his long-term injury for United. He should be a vital player for the Red Devils coming into the rest of the season. No sparring partners though please… we beg!
