Manchester United will be delighted with the rapid progression of Rasmus Hojlund and now he’s proven twice as good as a former target.

After a slow start to life at Manchester United in which he hadn’t scored domestically until December 27th, Rasmus Hojlund is now on fire.

Ever since opening his account in the Premier League against Aston Villa, United’s 21-year-old has been unstoppable with five goals in his last five Premier League appearances.

His tally for the season now stands at 11 goals and two assists as he looks unlikely to stop scoring as his confidence runs high.

After his latest goal, an interesting stat has emerged which shows that he’s twice as clinical as Liverpool forward Darwin Nunez.

Rasmus Hojlund is becoming incredibly clinical

According to a study from The Athletic, Hojlund is starting to become extremely clinical and his goals-per-shot figures are seriously impressive.

Nunez has a conversion rate of just 10.3 per cent, while Hojlund has almost twice that with 19.2 per cent which is close to that of league leader Erling Haaland.

Scoring five goals from just 23 shots is a sign that what Hojlund needs is more chances while is up to Erik ten Hag to work on.

Nunez particularly though will be someone United will be happy to see Hojlund doing better than given the former Benfica forward was once an option for the Old Trafford side.

United made the right call to avoid Nunez signing

In the summer of 2022, United were searching for a new striker and it looked like Nunez was the man they wanted.

That however soon changed as his £85m price tag was revealed and the club didn’t fancy being dragged into a bidding war.

This move has since proven to be the right one as Nunez continues to struggle while United signed Hojlund for less and he’s already looking a better player.

Hojlund has an extremely bright future and he looks good value now to kick on, especially next season onwards and become the forward United have wanted for years.
