Manchester United loanee Rasmus Hojlund started in Napoli’s latest 3-2 victory over Pisa in Serie A.
Head coach Ruben Amorim decided that Rasmus Hojlund was excess to requirements this season following his disappointing 2024/25 campaign.
Hojlund wanted to stay at United, but he ended up completing a loan move to Napoli which is set to become permanent next summer if they qualify for the Champions League.
Currently, Napoli sit at the peak of the Serie A table after winning all four of their opening league matches.
Hojlund scored on his Napoli debut, but struggled to have a similar impact against Manchester City or in their latest match against Pisa.

Rasmus Hojlund suffers same problem he had at Man Utd
Last season, there is no denying that Hojlund was underwhelming in a season where United recorded their worst-ever Premier League finish.
One of the main concerns was that Hojlund was not taking enough touches and spent the majority of matches without having an impact.
It seems the Dane has carried those issues with him to Naples, as he suffered the same fate against Pisa.
As per Sofascore, Hojlund only managed 17 touches on the ball during his 78-minute display. That is less than half the amount that any of his teammates managed.
He failed to take a shot on goal and also only completed eight passes before being replaced in the second half.
Benjamin Sesko is improving Man United where Hojlund couldn’t
While summer signing Benjamin Sesko is yet to open his goalscoring account for United, he has already shown exciting glimpses of his potential.
Sesko played a pivotal role against Chelsea, winning a header that led to Robert Sanchez’s early red card.
The Slovenian’s link-up play has also been sharp and neat, combining well with the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo around him.
Amorim is already pleased with Sesko’s contribution, citing his movement in the box as a major improvement on last season.
