Rasmus Hojlund has just done something unbelievable in Denmark training

One of the small beacons of hope this season for Manchester United has to be Rasmus Hojlund.

The towering Danish forward had his doubters after he arrived for a hefty £64m from Atalanta in the summer. Relatively unproven, with few league goals and at just 20 years old – many thought it was a massive risk.

But in the short space of time he’s featured in red, he’s blown everyone away. He notably showed how great he can be in the Champions League loss to Galatasaray, where he bagged two goals and dominated throughout.

His fine United form is transcending to his national side, where he did something outrageous in Denmark training.

Hojlund scores ludicrous backheel

The international break means we get to see Red Devils shining for their countries.

Hojlund will definitely be in the frame for Denmark, as they take on Kazakhstan and San Marino.

Even if he doesn’t gain a start off his United merit, a training video shows he definitely impressed his national coaches.

The ball is rolled into the forward in a small training drill, to which Hojlund uses his physical stature to hold off the defender.

Instead of turning to shoot, Hojlund backheels the ball and it unbelievably generates height and surpasses a helpless goalkeeper.

His potential is actually ridiculous

It’s clips like this that make you realise just what a special player Manchester United may have on their hands.

The best players in the world see situations differently and this is exactly what the 20-year-old did here.

It’s going to be exciting watching Hojlund over the weekend, but we simply beg that he comes back in one piece.

An injury to this man could change the trajectory of the season once again. We sincerely hope they look after him.
