Rasmus Hojlund has given his immediate reaction to netting his first Premier League goal for Manchester United at Old Trafford.
Unai Emery’s Aston Villa were two goals up at Old Trafford at half-time and the Midlands side, who remain eight points clear of Manchester United despite the defeat, looked to be on their way to a famous victory.
Erik ten Hag stuck with his United team at half-time and that rather risky decision from the Dutchman proved to be the perfect one as a double from Alejandro Garnacho and a winning goal from Rasmus Hojlund turned the game around.
The 20-year-old forward swivelled smartly after a poor flick from John McGinn and finished brilliantly past Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Hojlund’s reaction
It’s clear to see how much that goal meant for the Danish forward as it was a rather explosive celebration from the 20-year-old as he ran into the corner where the fans were celebrating his special moment.
Speaking after the game against Villa to Amazon Prime Sport, Hojlund looked absolutely delighted and said: “I’m the happiest man alive right now. I’m happy to get the first one, and I can build on that now.
One of his strike partners in the front three Garnacho was also delighted for the former Atalanta striker. “I am happy for Rasmus [Højlund]. Too many people talk about the strikers at Man United,” Garnacho told Amazon Prime.
It wasn’t just the goal itself that would have pleased Ten Hag but the Danish striker’s ability to shield the ball from the Villa defence, who are certainly physically strong, this has always been the case even during the games when Holjund has struggled.
Hojlund has to kick on
It was a truly special moment for the young striker, there were echoes of Federico Macheda’s debut goal for the Red Devils against Aston Villa during the title run-in back in 2009.
The key for Hojlund is that he builds on such a special moment and doesn’t allow that goal to just be a flash in the pan with a key game coming up against Nuno Espirito Santo’s Nottingham Forest side.
Hojlund has shown promise throughout the months that he has been at Old Trafford but has struggled to put the ball in the back of the net, this has to be the moment that kickstarts his season.
