So guess who wants to come back to the Premier League?

According to The Mirror, Angel Di Maria wants a second spell in England at the end of the season.

He reportedly wants £200,000 per week from a club. It shouldn’t be United.

Let him head to City, or Chelsea, or even a club desperate to make an impact like Everton.

Quitter

Di Maria was a player United once had high hopes for, after we handed him the number seven shirt and paid £59.7 million for his signature.

What we got was an inconsistent player who disappeared in the second half of his first season after starting promisingly.

His debut season had some bright spots, and areas to build on. Di Maria had other ideas.

The Argentine was desperate to quit, citing a mixture of on and off field issues.

Louis van Gaal’s dull football didn’t help matters, but his sulk and desire to push a move was an insult to the club who paid his high wages.

The fans haven’t forgotten how quickly he walked away. He bottled it.

Di Maria did play under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid, and there is a danger he pushes to bring him back.

That would be a mistake, to sign an expensive 30-year-old. But of course, there’s no guarantee right now that Mourinho will even be in charge next summer.

Would he improve the team? Possibly, but there are other, cheaper wingers United could sign, with a better attitude.

Di Maria had his chance.
