Marcus Rashford is set to embark on a new chapter in his career after joining Aston Villa on loan for the remainder of the season.
Marcus Rashford has plenty of reason to be excited about joining up with Unai Emery at Villa Park. There still involved in the Champions League and in a higher Premier League position than United.
The Manchester United forward will get the chance to resurrect his stagnating career. Sadly, it’s only best to accept that the move is best for all parties.
Emery will hope to get the best out of Rashford which would involve doing something few of his previous managers were able to do.
Rashford will have it all to prove at Villa and jury will be harsh if he doesn’t deliver.
That said, Rashford has every chance of exploding into life once again at Villa Park.
Paul Merson warns Ruben Amorim after Marcus Rashford exit
Ruben Amorim was never going to change his ways when it came to Rashford.
That’s why we are best to part ways and get rid of unnecessary background noise.
Speaking live on Sky Sports News, Paul Merson claimed that Amorim’s job is on the line if Rashford scores 10 goals in 10 games for Villa.
“What he has done with the Rashford situation is mind-blowing. I think his job is on the line with this now. I really do.
“If Rashford goes to Villa and gets 10 in 10 and Man United continue playing the way they are playing, if you are on the board you would seriously be asking questions of what are you doing.”
Merson added: “It makes sense [for Rashford to join Aston Villa on loan]. He has an unbelievable opportunity. He is going to one of the top teams in the Premier League. Great team, great club.
“The one thing we are all missing here is that he has to take his head with him. It’s a huge gamble.”
Pressure is on Rashford
Rashford wasn’t scoring 10 goals in 10 games for United’s first team, so it would be an incredible feat if he achieved that at Villa.
It would see Rashford dealing with lots of pressure, although less than United, and he’d became an instant hero at Villa Park.
Rashford has a lot of critics to prove wrong but he was unable to do that at United.
Emery needs to do something special to get him back firing again.
