Predicted Manchester United line-up v Everton

Manchester United have a rare Saturday kick-off this weekend at home to Everton.

Manchester United beat Everton at Old Trafford earlier this year in the FA Cup, and at Goodison Park last October.

The Toffees are a different proposition now, having dispensed with Frank Lampard and appointed Sean Dyche.

Already under Dyche they have beaten Arsenal and held Tottenham to a draw, and will be tough opponents for Manchester United.

The early kick-off is an opportunity for United to go six points ahead of Spurs, at least temporarily, and three ahead of Newcastle, putting pressure on their fixtures later in the weekend.

Having beaten Brentford 1-0 earlier in the week, Erik ten Hag will be keen his side follow this up with another, even more convincing win.

This is the final match of Casemiro’s four-game suspension. United have won two and lost one of these games.

Predicted Manchester United line-up

Everton share some traits with Brentford in that they are a physical team and will be well organised and tough to beat.

With that in mind, we are predicting that Erik ten Hag will stick with an approach which led Manchester United to the midweek win.

This will involve just one change, with Tyrell Malacia coming in for Luke Shaw, who picked up an injury on Wednesday night.

Diogo Dalot will continue at right-back, with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane retaining their places at centre-back.

United’s midfield three will remain Scott McTominay, Bruno Fernandes and Marcel Sabitzer, with the Austrian playing an advanced role again.

While Fred could come back into the team, McTominay and Sabitzer’s height will be important against the Toffees.

Christian Eriksen is back in training but the best we can hope for at this stage is a place on the bench.

Jadon Sancho did enough to keep his place on the left and Antony should start on the right. He has scored in both matches he has played against Everton so far.

This will see Marcus Rashford lead the line again. Anthony Martial is not yet fit to start, Ten Hag said, while Wout Weghorst should also be on the bench,
