Predicted Manchester United line-up v Crystal Palace in Australia

Manchester United’s third game of pre-season takes place on Tuesday with Erik ten Hag looking for another victory.

Kick-off is at 11.10am with the match against Crystal Palace set to be broadcast on MUTV.

How Manchester United could line-up

Erik ten Hag opted for a strong starting XI against Melbourne Victory on Friday. We had anticipated he could rotate the team a lot more – but this came in the second half instead.

No outfield player has featured for more than 90 minutes across the two matches combined, and it is very likely Ten Hag will make wholesale changes at half-time against Palace.

New signings Lisandro Martinez and Christian Eriksen are not on tour and so will not be available, with Tyrell Malacia in contention to feature.

David de Gea missed the game against Melbourne and we are expecting the Spaniard to make a return here. If he does not, then Tom Heaton will deputise.

Harry Maguire has only played once in central defence after missing the opening match and he is expected to start this one.

Eric Bailly could be rewarded for strong performances with a start, with Victor Lindelof expected to come on in the second half, possibly with Raphael Varane if he is fit to return.

New signing Tyrell Malacia could make his first start of pre-season after impressing in the last two off the bench, with Diogo Dalot continuing at right-back.

In midfield we could see James Garner play his first minutes of the tour. Manchester United’s official website says he is back in training.

He could be joined by Fred and Bruno Fernandes in midfield with Ten Hag expected to name a strong side for what could be a good test against an often awkward Premier League opponent who beat United on the final day of last season.

United should be expected to go with a front three of Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Jadon Sancho for the first 45 minutes, with Anthony Elanga dropping out.

There will be plenty of competition for places in the second half, with the likes of Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage getting a run-out again, while Facundo Pellistri will hope to return to the side, with Alejandro Garnacho and Hannibal potentially getting their first minutes of pre-season too.
