Manchester United head into tonight’s Europa League last 16 second leg against Real Betis with the job half done.

United won the tie at Old Trafford 4-1 and need a professional performance to ensure there is no drama in the second leg.

Erik ten Hag has already said he intends to select a strong side, telling the club website: “You need your best players.

“We need a result, we need a win, so then we need our best team.”

Predicted Manchester United line-up

Erik ten Hag won’t be messing about with his goalkeepers for this match despite United’s first leg lead, and will select David de Gea in goal.

There could be a handful of changes in defence, with Tyrell Malacia returning to the starting line-up. This would rest Luke Shaw for the weekend against Fulham.

A similar situation could see Diogo Dalot start at right-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka saved for the Fulham game.

Lisandro Martinez appeared alongside Ten Hag at his press conference and he will start at centre-back.

Raphael Varane may get a rest, which will probably lead to Victor Lindelof partnering Martinez. It could of course be Harry Maguire who gets the nod.

In midfield both Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes will start, Ten Hag confirmed. This is despite both players being just one yellow card away from suspension.

In midfield one of Marcel Sabitzer, Scott McTominay or Fred will complete the trio. We would suspect it will be the Brazilian.

The one ‘risk’ Ten Hag may take is starting Facundo Pellistri on United’s right wing with Antony out.

Pellistri deserves his first start, having contributed to United’s fourth goal last week. He has played in Spain before with Alaves too.

He would join a front three with Wout Weghorst and Marcus Rashford, with Jadon Sancho on the bench, potentially starting against Fulham.
