Manchester United talent Willy Kambwala has been spotted in first-team training ahead of the clash with Galatasaray.

Erik ten Hag has little time to think about Saturday’s defeat to Crystal Palace.

Champions League action is on the horizon again and United need a positive result against Galatasaray after losing to Bayern Munich.

United have received a blow ahead of the game though with Lisandro Martinez facing three months out.

Martinez is understood to be undergoing surgery today as he looks to solve a recurring metatarsal problem.

That leaves United with more defensive issues with Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Sergio Reguilon and Aaron Wan-Bissaka already out.

United will call upon Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane, Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans but more depth is needed with Ten Hag no doubt fearing more injuries.

United players were put through their paces at Carrington on Sunday with Ten Hag preparing for a big game.

One of the players spotted in training was teenage defender Willy Kambwala, who may be bumped up the order a little after Martinez’s injury blow.

The 19-year-old hasn’t yet made his first-team debut but will hope to have impressed Ten Hag and co during Sunday’s training session ahead of the Galatasaray clash.

Who is United talent Kambwala?

Born in Kinshasa over in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kambwala emerged with Sochaux over in France and attracted major interest as a kid.

France Football reported in 2020 that Liverpool were trying to sign Kambwala, but United managed to win the race.

United agreed a deal worth up to £3.5million for Kambwala, which was a decent fee for a player of his age.

Kambwala has been a regular for the Under-18’s and Under-21’s in recent times and will be desperate to make a senior debut for United.

That is unlikely to come against Galatasaray but United’s defensive injury situation has been so terrible that Kambwala may be called upon soon.
