Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has thrown praise on today’s performance in the 2-0 victory over Everton.
Speaking as a pundit on BT Sport post game, Scholes said that the win was impressive but it should have been by a wider margin.
He said: “That should’ve been a five or six goal win today, to bring them up to those levels [Arsenal and Man City], but it was quite comfortable.”
Scholes added that he thought Erik ten Hag picked the right starting line-up with a good mix of rotation.
“I thought the manager got the team right today, he freshened it up perfectly”

On Antony’s improvement
One player Scholes has been vocally critical of this season is Antony, however the Brazilian seems to have won over the former midfielder.
“I used to think of him as a one trick pony” Scholes added, “I think that was the best game I’ve seen him play for Manchester United today.”
On the importance of Martial
Scholes couldn’t emphasise enough the importance of keeping Anthony Martial fit and firing.
“It’s great to have him back, we all know the quality he has got but he has to stay fit.”
He marvelled at the connection Martial and Marcus Rashford have and suggested he believes Martial can help lessen the burden on Rashford.
“Rashford and Martial play so well together, they have a connection.” Scholes continued, “He hasn’t got a good record fitness wise.
“If he’s playing in this team [injury free] he’s scoring 20-25 goals.”
