Manchester United don’t play this weekend as it is an FA Cup week for the clubs who won their third round matches in January, and Paul Scholes has now aimed a dig toward the Red Devils.

Paul Scholes digs at Manchester United ahead of FA Cup fourth round
United being out of the FA Cup is a big blow, considering Michael Carrick probably would have secured a victory, giving himself a trophy to fight for.
However, it has allowed the team to have complete focus on securing Champions League football, with two valuable weeks on the training ground.
But speaking on the Salford City TikTok, Paul Scholes poked fun at United for not being in the competition, at the expense of his club he part-owns.
“Last year, I think was the first time we got to the third round of the cup. Where we were 10 years ago to where we are now is brilliant. We have to enjoy it, and we’ve even got further than Manchester United in this season’s FA Cup.”
This is said ahead of Salford taking on Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United cannot afford another cup run-less season
This season finishes in just 12 games’ time, which is really bizarre, but it is a result of United getting knocked out of both cups at the earliest opportunity.
Along with the FA Cup exit to Brighton, United were beaten by Grimsby in the League Cup, a result which was embarrassing and should have led to Amorim’s sacking.
Next season, United can’t have a repeat.
United needs to be challenging for both cups and having the extra games, which allows for rotation and integrating youth.
Additionally, it looks increasingly certain that United will have European football and potentially even the Champions League.
