Manchester United waved goodbye to Paul Pogba on June 30, with the Frenchman’s contract expiring. He’s Juventus’ problem now.

While the midfielder was wished a courteous and polite goodbye by the club in a social media video, the player’s departure was not exactly harmonious.

The World Cup winner was widely derided for comments made in his own Amazon documentary where he alienated supporters, criticising an expensive contract renewal offer from United as ‘nothing’.

United supporters responded by leaving scathing reviews of the ‘Pogmentary’, and it’s 1/10 user rating was the lowest on IMDB.

Pogba signed for Juventus in mid-July, for the second time. His move to the Italian side has got off to a poor start, with an injury just two weeks since he was unveiled.

He has been forced to abandon Juventus’ pre-season tour midway through their trip to USA. This is due to a torn meniscus.

A statement on Juventus’ official website read: “Following complaining of pain in his right knee, Paul Pogba underwent radiological examinations that revealed a lesion of the lateral meniscus.

“In the next few hours he will undergo a specialist orthopedic consultation. Therefore, in order to continue treatment, he is not taking part in the trip to Dallas.”

The former Manchester United midfielder could face weeks on the sidelines and may not be fit for the opening day of the Serie A season on August 13.

Injuries were part of Pogba’s problem during his time at Manchester United. In six seasons at Old Trafford, Pogba only played 30 or more Premier League games once.

This past season his campaign ended as he hobbled off 10 minutes into United’s defeat at Anfield.

These fitness problems were part of the argument against handing him a lucrative contract extension.

He will have good moments at Juventus no doubt, but this is not how Pogba wanted to kick off his return to Turin.
