Paul Pogba has been paying close attention to Manchester United’s resurgence under Michael Carrick.
In January, Manchester United decided to part ways with Ruben Amorim before hiring Michael Carrick as head coach on an interim basis.
It took Carrick just five months to convince Ineos he was the right man for the job, by steering United to a third-place finish in the Premier League and qualifying for the Champions League.
Carrick has received the blessing from multiple ex-players, with Wayne Rooney happy he has got the job permanently.

Paul Pogba not surprised Michael Carrick is proving to be a success as Man Utd head coach
Carrick was part of United’s coaching staff during Paul Pogba’s second stint at Old Trafford.
After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked as manager, Carrick also stood in for three matches, so Pogba got to see his approach to management up close.
Pogba didn’t sound surprised by United’s improved form under Carrick when asked by Sky Sports News in a brief interview.
“I think he’s doing a great job and he did it also at the time when he was the assistant of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer,” Pogba said.
“He’s a great guy, he has experience, he was a great player, and he has a very good connection with the players, you could see it when he took the team.
“I think it’s going to be good for United. I wish them the best, obviously, for him and all the staff and the players.”
Pogba just finished the season with AS Monaco, who finished seventh in Ligue 1.
He will be hoping to have a greater impact on the team next season by steering clear of injuries.
