Patrice Evra has compared Scott McTominay to former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard after his brilliant performance against the Blues.
Manchester United picked up a vital 2-1 win over Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea and it was two goals from Scott McTominay that won the game for the Red Devils.
It was McTominay’s fifth and sixth goal of the season and the way the Scottish midfielder ghosted into the box, for his second in particular, drew praise from the fanbase.
The 26-year-old has had a knack, for Scotland and United this season, of turning up in the right place at the right time when his team have needed him the most.

Well, speaking to Amazon Prime, former United left-back Patrice Evra believes that the Scottish midfielder, who was brought into the side by Jose Mourinho back in 2017, showed similar tendencies to former Chelsea great Frank Lampard.
“The way he ghosted into the box reminds me of Frank Lampard, a little bit. He’s always in the right place at the right time,” Evra said when speaking to the broadcaster.
It is certainly high praise from the Frenchman towards McTominay as being compared to a Chelsea legend with 211 goals is no mean feat.
McTominay fully deserves the praise as the Scotsman certainly has the uncanny knack of scoring vital goals for the Red Devils.

Had you posed the question to Erik Ten Hag about who he thought would have been the key man for the Red Devils at the midway stage of the season, McTominay would not have been that man.
That, however, is a testament to the midfielder’s character in adversity and he deserves a huge amount of praise for his heroics at Old Trafford and his comeback into the first-team picture.
Ten Hag has rewarded the Scotsman with a starting berth and the midfielder’s renaissance in the United squad really began with his two goals against Brentford.
His comeback has continued since then and it’s now hard to argue against the midfielder continuing to start in the engine for the Red Devils.
