Manchester United were 3-0 losers against Manchester City, in what was certainly a derby day to forget.
Erling Haaland, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden all stole the show at Old Trafford. Three individual performances filled with brilliance from the Cityzens.
Manchester United players could learn a lot from them. The Red Devils looks uninspired, unorganised and at times, hopeless. There wasn’t too much fight considering the occasion.
Despite this, there is one player who deserves a lot of credit for his performance. He was superb and has often been scrutinized in the past.

Andre Onana deserves credit in the Manchester derby
Andre Onana was the one good thing about Manchester United today, he was fabulous.
Despite conceding three, it could have been so many more. The Cameroonian shot-stopper made some vital saves, including a wonder-stop from a Haaland close-range header.
He also showed a lot of passion, as he usually does. He was constantly barking orders at players and trying to command from the back.
His stats were brilliant.
- 90 minutes played
- 7 saves
- 53 touches
- 1 successful run out
- 0.65 goals prevented
- 4 saves inside the box
- 7.9 rating
As sourced from Sofa Score.
The next highest rating was a Scott McTominay 7.3, but even he didn’t perform too well. Onana really is the only player that can leave with his head held high.
A nice turning point for Andre Onana
After heavy media scrutiny and abuse from fans – it’s really nice to see Onana finally performing.
He’s had an excellent week. He obviously saved United’s bacon in the Champions League against Copenhagen and now he was easily our best performer in the derby.
Not to mention he had a solid game against Sheffield United last weekend also.
It’s nice to see he’s finally finding his feet at Old Trafford. Now, it’s down to the rest of the players in front of him to step up.
