Manchester United are looking for a lethal finisher up front when the team used to be full of them.
Manchester United need a player to step up in front of goal, with no player netting more than six goals so far this season in all competitions.
What we wouldn’t give for one of Sir Alex Ferguson‘s legendary players in the team right now to transform this comparatively weak 2023/24 version.
One man who knows all about that is Ben Amos, a former Manchester United trainee, who is part of the Wigan Athletic squad hosting the Red Devils in the FA Cup.

Ben Amos hails former Manchester United teammates
Ben Amos spoke to Manchester United club media ahead of the Wigan tie, and reflected on his experience training with first team greats and club legends at Carrington.
He picked out Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez as one of the two best finishers at the club along with Paul Scholes.
The Mexican was a two-title title winner at Old Trafford, but remains a very underrated player a decade on.
Amos said: “Scholes would always be up there. Chicharito [Javier Hernandez] was always tough to stop, with his cultured finish, but there were so many. I’m racking my brains now!
“I didn’t want to go for kind of the obvious ones, like [Wayne] Rooney and [Robin] van Persie. I mean, they kind of speak for themselves, don’t they?”
He added: “I think Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was still there when I first started training with the first team. He was something else! But there were goal threats everywhere you looked.”
Where is Chicarito now
Chicarito was most recently playing in Major League Soccer, where he spent four years playing for LA Galaxy.
He enjoyed success in front of goal, netting 39 goals in 82 games, recently bouncing back from a serious knee injury.
The 35-year-old has recently become a free agent and has been linked with a return to Mexico, per ESPN.
