One OGC Nice midfielder Man United need to sign as Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment nears

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s takeover of Manchester United is seemingly edging ever closer and the INEOS owner may well have his first target in mind already.

The protracted process to decide who will take over Manchester United from the Glazer family has been dragging on for nearly a year now.

But, after months of no movement, it now seems the INEOS owner, as well as the owner of OGC Nice among other sporting franchises, is set to acquire a 25% stake in the Old Trafford club.

This did seem to cause concern for fans of the Red Devils but, according to The Athletic, Ratcliffe was willing to take such an incredibly generous stake in the club due to wanting to make the sporting decisions at the club.

United should move for Khephren Thuram

Jean-Clair Todibo was linked with Erik ten Hag’s United throughout the summer but a deal never seemed close to being finalised.

Whilst a move for the former Barcelona defender would be a good one, it’s his French teammate Khepren Thuram who should be the target for the Red Devils.

Thuram is an exciting midfield option who has been heavily linked with Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool and if Jim Ratcliffe wants to ingratiate himself to the United fanbase then signing the young midfielder would be a wise move.

United and OGC Nice

Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s long-term plans for Nice are unclear, along with his willingness to trade between the two clubs.

However, Khephren Thuram should certainly be targeted and the midfielder would bring everything that United have been lacking in the middle of the park throughout the season.

The midfielder, according to FBREF, excels in successful take-ons as well as progressive carries so his dribbling ability would certainly be unique in the United midfield.

The France international also excels at interceptions (1.39 per 90 the 23rd best in Europe) and he certainly would offer that defensive solidity.

Ratcliffe is seemingly under pressure to deliver already and a move for the French midfielder, at a decent price, would certainly bring a few onside.
