Among all the creative players in the Manchester United team against Wolves, it was Aaron Wan-Bissaka who supplied the decisive pass for the winner.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka‘s cross for Raphael Varane was the difference between the two teams, and saw United leave Old Trafford with all three points.
It was not a night of many strong individual performances. Andre Onana was voted as Manchester United’s man of the match. It was a close run battle between him and the two defenders involved in the winner.
Fellow new signing Mason Mount was much more disappointing, with the gung-ho tactical approach deployed by Erik ten Hag almost backfiring.

Right-back says he wants more assists
Wan-Bissaka got his season off to a strong start with an assist and a clean sheet in his first game on 2023/24.
The assist was particularly noteworthy, considering he did not manage a single one in the Premier League last season despite some impressive displays. His season best is four league assists, in both 2020/21 and 2019/20.
Speaking to The Athletic last week, Wan-Bissaka said: “We do some attack v defence, but obviously with Ten Hag he is focused on the attack, whereas at Palace it was the defence
Asked if he wanted more assists, he said: “Yeah definitely, especially if I am going to be in those positions. It’ll be good to be pushing them numbers.”
