Manchester United got the 2023/24 Premier League campaign underway at Old Trafford against Wolves last night.
That’s one game down, another 37 to go. There are high hopes at Manchester United for another strong season. But just how good can the team become?
Roy Keane told Sky Sports (13/8) that he does not feel United are title challengers. Speaking to Monday Night Football, another former Red, Gary Neville, leaned towards the same view.
Neville says a lot will have to go right, and picked out a few United stars who are key to a very successful season.

Gary Neville calls on Antony to step up
Speaking to Sky Sports (14/8), Gary Neville says he believes Antony is one of the keys to Manchester United going above and beyond expectation.
He also said he knows Marcus Rashford must match or exceed his 2023/24 campaign in which he scored 30 in all competitions.
Neville said: “For Manchester United to compete for the title Antony is going to have to explode this season, Rashford is going to have to hit same the numbers, and Hojlund, Mount, Onana are going to have to settle in.

Erik ten Hag acknowledges Antony has to show more
Neville spoke to Erik ten Hag on Sky before kick-off against Wolves and the Red Devils boss acknowledged that he wants to see Antony raise his game.
When asked what he wants from the Brazilian this season, he said: “Raise the bar. More end production.”
Whether Antony can ‘explode’ to transform United into title contenders like Cristiano Ronaldo once did, we will have to wait and see. Some steady improvement would be a start.
