Directors and high-ranking officials at other Premier League clubs have given their reaction to the appointment of Omar Berrada at Manchester United, according to reports.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s 25 per cent takeover of Manchester United has yet to be officially ratified by the Premier League but the Englishman has already made one big appointment.
Omar Berrada was an important figure during the years of Manchester City’s dominance in the league and now Europe, and there was some surprise when the deal to take the Moroccan to Old Trafford was confirmed.
Berrada is the first seismic external appointment the club has made in years and teams in the Premier League have given their reaction to the impressive appointment.

Premier League teams react
According to a report from The Athletic, several high-ranking officials at other clubs were left shocked by this appointment and how discreet it was.
United have a tendency to allow deals they are working on to drag out in the media which slows down the process immeasurably and frustrates fans in the process.
This time, however, that was not the case. One executive reportedly described the deal as the first elite appointment that the Red Devils have made in over a decade.
Another executive reportedly believes it is the biggest deal United have pulled off since 2003 when they signed an exciting teenager from Sporting Lisbon who goes by the name of Cristiano Ronaldo.
Berrada will certainly not have the same impact on the pitch that Ronaldo has but off it, this could be the most important acquisition the Red Devils have made in a long time.
Berrada’s responsibilities
According to the report, Berrada would have only left City if he believed it was a step up and not a sideways step and has cited the responsibilities he would be given at Old Trafford as one of the key reasons behind his decision to join.
Having someone with football acumen at the top of the club, who was very recently key for City as they pulled off the deal to sign River Plate midfielder Claudio Echeverri, is key.
This summer promises to be one of the biggest in the club’s recent history. With Berrada given six-month gardening leave by City, the Moroccan has a chance to analyse every facet of the club to prepare for the summer rebuild.
