‘On the contrary’… Ralf Rangnick and Ten Hag are in major disagreement over Man Utd loanee

Manchester United have gotten rid of Jadon Sancho for the next six months but now a former United boss has disagreed with the reasons for his departure.

Jadon Sancho has got the move he desired and is out from under Erik ten Hag‘s rule at Manchester United. Borussia Dortmund have taken the gamble on him, although it’s doubtful that they see it as a gamble.

The 23-year-old still has a long time left to get it right in his career and he’ll be hoping a return to his old stomping ground can spark him into some form.

The reasons behind his loan are his disagreement with Ten Hag, with the Dutchman unsatisfied with his player’s effort in training among other reasons. It all came to a head in early September when Sancho put out a statement calling the manager a liar for his comments on the Englishman’s training.

Now though, Ralf Rangnick has revealed that he had a polar opposite experience with the £73m man.

Ralf Rangnick drops Jadon Sancho verdict

Speaking with Sky Germany, Rangnick has explained his views on Sancho.

“He had his best time in Dortmund and, when he was healthy, always played with me. However, he was not as carefree as in Dortmund. But this was also due to the overall situation.

“If he was fit, he was seated and did well under me. In Manchester, he no longer came to the train. He now has to get back into a rhythm and in shape in Dortmund. From his point of view, the change makes perfect sense.”

Where it gets interesting is he has a completely different perception of Sancho as a personality, in comparison to Ten Hag’s view.

“In the six months I had him, there was not a single discipline problem. On the contrary. He is a quiet and pleasant guy.”

Sancho has a real chance to save his Manchester United career at Dortmund

In the next four or five months, Sancho’s career trajectory will be decided. He either performs exceptionally which gives him options as he will no doubt have suitors.

Alternatively, he could fumble this chance and end up back at United, with no argument for game time and no interest from elsewhere.

It’s an important few months and so for his sake, let’s hope the version of Sancho that Rangnick coached turns up for Dortmund.
