On loan Manchester United star scores his first goal since 2019 with a last-gasp equaliser

An on-loan Manchester United player scored for his side for the first time yesterday, but more remarkably it was his first goal in football since 2019.

Ipswich Town took a punt on a United star in August, as they confirmed Brandon Williams has joined on a season-long loan.

Life at his new club started horrendously for Williams. He scored an own goal on his debut after just 74 seconds. Not ideal.

However, yesterday he put the ball in the correct goal yesterday, as the English full-back scored his first goal in competitive football since 2019.

Brandon Williams bags for Ipswich

Williams got his goal just when Kieren Mckenna’s side needed him to. They found themselves one goal down entering the last three minutes of the 90 against Huddersfield Town before a last-gasp Willaims header secured them a point on the road.

The point was vital for the Suffolk-based club, as it keeps them within touching distance of the league leaders Leicester City after nine games.

After a shaky start, Williams is definitely now finding his feet once again in the Championship. He was arguably their best player yesterday after coming on as a half-time substitute.

First strike since 2019!

Williams’ last goal in professional football was scored at Manchester United way back in November 2019.

The full-back scored his first Premier League goal in a 3-3 draw with Sheffield United. This goal was the start of a thrilling seven-minute comeback against the Blades.

United were 2-0 down at Bramall Lane but clawed back to 3-2 thanks to Williams, Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford.

Sadly, Oli McBurnie spoiled the party in the 90th minute to give Sheffield a, probably deserved, point.
