Manchester United fans are filled with excitement in welcoming Ruben Amorim as the new manager but in the process, they’re saying goodbye to a club legend.
Ruud van Nistelrooy’s exit from the club was confirmed recently after Amorim hinted at his plans for the staff which have come to fruition.
Van Nistelrooy quickly built upon his legend status in his short time as interim manager, winning three and drawing one to put Man Utd’s season back on track to an extent.
Pleas were made to Amorim repeatedly by Van Nistelrooy to stay but the incoming manager came in with a clear idea of what he wanted to do.
The respect he gained from the players in just four games has been clear to see, with Casemiro leaving an emotional message for Van Nistelrooy, and Garnacho also chiming in.
Amad has now said his best in a clear message to the departing club legend, while Omar Berrada has welcomed the new era with a message for Amorim.

Amad’s message for Ruud van Nistelrooy
It was less than a month ago that Amad was effectively relegated to third choice for the spot on the right wing, as Antony came on ahead of him at Fenerbahce.
The misery was piled on since Noussair Mazraoui started as the No 10 that day in the ultimate head-scratching move by a coach already hanging on to his job by a thread.
Fast forward four games under Van Nistelrooy, Amad has become a Man Utd undroppable after irresistible displays in every game under the Dutchman.
Amad had previously credited Van Nistelrooy for his form and upon his departure, reserved a special message for the legend.
He said on his Instagram stories: “Thanks for everything, I wish you all the best boss”, combined with a heart emoji and a heart made with hands emoji.

Four games under Van Nistelrooy have turned around the careers of multiple players, with Manuel Ugarte an undisputed starter, Bruno Fernandes finding form, and Casemiro returning to his debut season levels.
It is not questionable, therefore, that the team wanted him to stay but ultimately, Amorim letting Van Nistelrooy go was the right decision.
Omar Berrada speaks on Ruben Amorim to Man Utd
Ineos are betting their legacy on Amorim and the incoming manager taking tough decisions like letting Van Nistelrooy go only adds to the pressure.
Amorim is set to be United’s first “Head Coach” instead of “Manager”, with his appointment indicating that Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Co finally have the full structure in place which they clearly compromised on with Ten Hag.
Man Utd CEO Omar Berrada seems to confirm that assertion in his recent comments at a Web Summit, covered by Portuguese outlet Record.
Berrada said: “I am very excited about the arrival of Ruben Amorim. It is good to be back in Lisbon, I was here two weeks ago. We really believe that he will integrate into the rest of the structure so that we can be successful on the pitch.”
Amorim will take charge of his first game on November 24 against Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich, another man who was rumoured to be a candidate for the job in the summer.
With the Portuguese now in place and the structure settled, it truly does feel like a new era as in Erik ten Hag, the last remnant of the Glazers’ regime has been replaced by Ineos’ own man.
