Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is still without a job as a club president has dismissed the idea of a potential new role.
Solskjaer has now been without a job since Manchester United sacked him in November 2021. The Norwegian is still absolutely adored around Old Trafford, and with hindsight in our favour, he now really didn’t deserve the stick he obtained as head coach.
Since his dismissal, Solskjaer hasn’t gone back into management. But now almost two years on, could he be getting back into the game?
Apparently, it won’t be for a particular MLS side, who have shut down all rumours that the 50-year-old may be taking the job at the helm.
Solskjaer dismissed by Charlotte FC club president
It was reported that Solskjaer had ‘expressed interest’ in coaching Charlotte FC.
However, the club president quickly dismissed this notion. He said:
‘To be very clear, Ole visited our facility along with many other MLS facilities last week,’ he wrote on Twitter / X.
‘It’s common and best practice to host people from across the globe and we’ll continue to do so. We’re proud of what we’ve built. End of story here.’
Charlotte is currently coached by Christian Lattanzio and that seems to be unchanging following the club president’s comments.
What next for Solskjaer?
It’s hard to say, but there is definitely a future in football coaching for Solskjaer.
There have really been no rumours at all about his next role, but he should definitely be heading somewhere where he will be appreciated.
He needs more of a project in our eyes. It would be good to see him return to English football, so maybe take a leaf out of Wayne Rooney‘s book and head to the Championship.
It’ll be interesting to see where he ends up.
