Former Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hasn’t been in a job since leaving Old Trafford over two years ago. But now he’s in talks over a shocking potential new role.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks like he’s back in the job hunt as he opens talks over a surprising new role.

It’s been two years since Ole was sacked by Manchester United and looking back, he was doing a far better job than he’d been given credit for – with Gary Neville believing he’s our only post Sir Alex Ferguson manager to have a style of play.

He was doing a remarkable job with what was in hindsight not a very good group of players.

Many fans of United are therefore keen and waiting eagerly to see the Old Trafford icon’s next career move.

Now it’s been suggested that he is in talks over a job – here’s what we know.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is now in the running for Sweden job

After a two-year management hiatus, Ole could be in discussions over a comeback role and this time it’s in the international management scene.

This is according to Swedish outlet, Fotboll Skanalen, who claim that talks have been held with Ole over the prospect of him becoming the new Swedish national team manager.

This would be an interesting choice for Ole to step back into management with – given the fact he is Norweigan – but it’d come with a few benefits.

The benefit is that he’d have two familiar faces waiting for him in the Sweden squad.

Ole’s Sweden captain could be Victor Lindelof

The current Sweden captain Victor Lindelof would be one of the familiar faces Ole would have in his squad. It’s unlikely he’d remove the captaincy from Lindelof so his captain could be a player he knows well.

Another whom Ole could be reunited with is Nottingham Forest ace Anthony Elanga, a player who was granted his debut by the legendary Norweigan striker.

It’s certainly a role which would be intriguing to see Ole in, but we won’t hold our breath with talks still at an early stage, although it’d be good to see him back in management.
