Manchester United suffered another disappointing result at Old Trafford against Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace have now won four of their last league matches against Manchester United, without conceding a single goal. It’s a record Ruben Amorim will want to set right in the future but he will have to wait.
United were condemned to a fifth home league defeat in six. It means United are 13th in the Premier League table following a performance that needs to improve.
Too many teams come away from Old Trafford with three points these days, and it raises questions over whether the stadium is still a fortress in the top flight.
Two second half goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta sealed the win for Palace.
United need to bounce back from this quickly of they will continue to slump in the Premier League.

Rio Ferdinand hammers Manchester United stars
United’s performance was below bar.
In turn, it made it easier for Palace to get a result.
Speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents, he said: “Is anyone really surprised? I think this is just where we are right now. I’m not sitting here in complete shock – it’s so weird to think that I’ve just come to expect that we could lose this game.
“Man United, we lose again today at home. Teams are now going to Old Trafford with no respect, man. No respect whatsoever.
“’The manager needs to find a way of getting his team through this period. He needs to find a way of finding some positives in some games.
“The team don’t seem to be able to play football properly with the ball. We’ve got no real idea or patterns at the moment since the manager’s come in.”
Ferdinand wants a new striker
Amorim made a big change for the game against Crystal Palace and it meant United started without a striker, with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee on the bench.
“Kobbie playing up front, another new variation of tactics from the manager,’ Ferdinand said, reflecting on Amorim’s change in personnel.
“There’s two strikers – where does that leave Zirkzee and Hojlund? I see that we’re in the market for the young Bayern Munich striker (Tel) now. He’s a great talent but do we need another young one?
“Maybe we do, the manager maybe sees that we’re in the market to get him. But when you play Kobbie so high, Bruno has to play even deeper. Then we lack that real threat. We weren’t really a threat today.”
