Nicolas Pepe is being lined up by Manchester United, according to the Manchester Evening News.

If you have not heard of Pepe, he is world football’s next football superstar in waiting.

He is following in Eden Hazard’s steps at Lille, and this season he has scored 17 goals.

A further eight assists makes his numbers even more impressive.

The past few weeks have shown how light United are in attack, with no goals scored in home matches against PSG and Liverpool.

The lack of a right winger has been evident for a long time at United.

Pepe could fill the void, and will be cheaper than Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho.

At just 23, Pepe’s best years are ahead of him. His success this season follows 13 goals the year before.

Barcelona are allegedly interested, but their limits on non-EU players will likely count them out of the race for the Ivoru Coast international.

United do have Tahith Chong waiting for his chance, and while he should prosper, United can’t rely on him as a weekly starter.

Pepe would be a smart addition, and United showing interest is an encouraging sign.
