Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes have delivered a verdict that probably won’t please Manchester United loanee Marcus Rashford as doubts emerge over his Barcelona future.
There have been many stories about Marcus Rashford in recent weeks. The focus is on his future with Barcelona’s interest cooling over the £26m option to buy they can activate before the June deadline.
Other stories claim Barcelona see Rashford as expendable, with Deco keen to evaluate the market rather than commit to a deal with United that was discussed last year.
On Saturday, Rashford scored his 13th goal of the season to edge Barcelona closer to the title.

Barcelona have a £26m buy option for Marcus Rashford, but what is he actually worth in today's market?
Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes express doubts about Marcus Rashford at Barcelona
Last summer, Rashford left United for a second time on loan, joining Barcelona after a productive spell at Aston Villa.
As things stand, it seems like Rashford’s relationship with United is irreparable, even if Barcelona fail to reach an agreement over the England international.
That could see Rashford return to United before searching for a new club, unless the next permanent head coach wants him in the squad.
Former United midfielder Nicky Butt knows what it’s like to leave the Red Devils as his boyhood club, and thinks it would be a mistake for Rashford to return.
“I think it would be wrong for Marcus for it to happen. He’s made that break now, and that would be the toughest thing he had to do,” Butt said on The Good, The Bad & The Football.
“I done it, leave the club you were brought up with, that’s the hardest thing, that initial break.
“He went to Villa had a great cameo role there, Barcelona he started off well, for some reason he’s not getting games now.
“I think he will go somewhere else, it’s just where and who can afford him.”
Paul Scholes also weighed in on the debate by stressing that Rashford must decide whether he wants to be a back-up option at Barcelona or play regular football at a club like Villa.
“At Barcelona he will only ever be back-up to Raphinha and Yamal,” Scholes said.
“It’s down to the lad, does he want to go to a Villa, that type of club where he is going to play every week.”
Butt replied: “Marcus needs to play every week, he needs confidence, he needs an arm round him, then you have an unbelievable talent.
“When he’s a bit part player and he’s not playing every week and he’s not feeling loved, that’s when he loses his love of football.
“It’s sad because he’s got such unbelievable talent.”
Scholes concluded: “I think his time is done at United.”

Tottenham keen on Marcus Rashford
Tottenham are reportedly interested in signing Rashford this summer if the United loanee doesn’t end up joining Barcelona permanently.
With United frustrated with Barcelona over dragging their heels in negotiations, other clubs may start to show an interest in signing Rashford.
United would prefer to agree on a permanent deal rather than another loan, even if the suitor in question is willing to cover the player’s wages.
According to Sport, Tottenham have shown ‘genuine interest’ in signing Rashford.
A deal would be unlikely if Tottenham were relegated from the Premier League.
Tottenham are currently 18th, two points from safety, with four matches left to play.
