Neymar and several Manchester United players have sent supportive messages to Alex Telles after the left-back was ruled out of the World Cup due to injury.

Like Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus, the 29-year-old will play no further part in the Selecao’s hunt for a sixth World Cup.

Both Telles and Jesus have suffered tournament ending injuries to their right knees, according to Brazilian news outlet Globo.

But the report states that Telles’ injury is “more serious” and while it’s still too early to be 100% sure the man who is spending the 2022-23 season on loan at La Liga side Sevilla may need surgery.
