Nemanja Matic has nothing but praise for Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag and believes that next season they can challenge for the Premier League title.
The Serbian left United in the summer of 2022, which meant he never featured under the Dutchman’s reign.
Instead, he joined up with former Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho at AS Roma, in the Italian first division.
Matic was a great servant for Manchester United and, after a recent interview, it’s clear to see that he still has an interest in the club’s future successes.

Nemanja Matic on Erik ten Hag
Speaking with Sky Sports, Matic gave his thoughts on United’s new regime under ten Hag.
“I like the way he [Ten Hag] wants to play, I like the way United play,” the Serbian told the media.
“There have been ups and downs, which is normal with a new manager, but I’m happy with the way they have progressed and I think next season they will fight for the title.”
Fans will be hoping Matic’s prediction is correct. The team have improved drastically under his short tenure and some players have looked a different player altogether, much like Marcus Rashford.
When Matic was asked about his thoughts on Rashford’s rejuvenation for the Red Devils this season, the 34-year-old responded:
“For me, he’s one of United’s best players, if not the best. He scores so many goals and he has to keep going. For a player to be successful, he needs the support of the whole team.
“If the team is doing well, there’s always a player who becomes the star. In previous seasons it was David de Gea and it’s not good if he’s your goalkeeper. I’m happy for Marcus because he is talented and a very good person.”
Rashford has no doubt been one of the players of the season and if Matic’s prediction is to come to light – he’ll be a very big part of our title charge in the 2023/24 campaign.
