Alejandro Garnacho made a successful return for Manchester United in the win at home to Wolves.

It is more than two months since we last saw Alejandro Garnacho in a Manchester United shirt.

He wasted no time reminding us all what we had been missing. After coming on as a late 82nd minute substitute, he scored United’s second goal in injury time to seal a 2-0 victory.

It was a joy to see Garnacho back in action. He is a special talent who, at just 18, makes this team better already.

Praise for Alejandro Garnacho

Alejandro Garnacho’s solo goal was a timely reminder of his quality. And it is no surprise many of his goals have come a substitute.

As explained by MUTV pundit Alex Bruce after the game, Garnacho is the worst possible player for tired defenders to have to face.

Bruce explained: “He can go inside or outside. [as a defender] all day you think, ‘oh no he’s going to come on and run at me’.

“That’s what he did. He’s a hell of a prospect. He’s what Manchester United players are all about.

“He’s exciting. He’s quick, he can dribble at players. He’s got a little bit of something about him, he’s full of confidence.”

Garnacho is electric to watch and is now up to five goals in his breakthrough season.

As his reputation begins to rise, defenders will become more fearful about facing him, while supporters will become more and more excited to watch him.

A year ago this week the youngster was winning the FA Youth Cup for Manchester United. Now he is back to showcasing his first team credentials.

With a new long-term contract signed recently too, there is a lot to look forward to.
