Monaco are interested in signing Manchester United target Adrien Rabiot if they progress to the next Champions League qualifying stage.
Erik ten Hag has spoken to the Juventus midfielder, says French journalist Julien Laurens and the man who works for L’Equipe and ESPN, said the manager and player had a ‘good conversation’ over a potential move.

He added that Manchester United’s lack of Champions League football won’t be a problem for the France international, who hopes a move to Old Trafford will help him secure a place in Didier Deschamps’ Les Bleus squad for this winter’s World Cup.
However, talkSPORT reporter Alex Crook has revealed that Ligue 1 giants Monaco are interested in bringing Rabiot back to his native country this summer, and the 27-year-old’s mother and agent, Veronique, will only engage in further talks after tonight’s clash between PSV Eindhoven and Monaco.
Monaco interested in Adrien Rabiot

Crook said: “PSV Eindhoven play Monaco in a Champions League qualifier tonight and it’s [the tie] locked at 1-1.
“This could be quite a key game for Manchester United’s recruitment department. His [Rabiot’s] agent is represented by his mum Veronique and she’s waiting to see if Monaco, who also want Rabiot, progress beyond that Champions League qualifier before engaging in further talks with Manchester United.”
Should Monaco progress and oust PSV, who are managed by former Reds striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, they will face the winner of the Rangers and Union St.Gilloise tie for a place in this season’s Champions League.

As well as Rabiot, who made 227 appearances and won 20 trophies during his time with Paris Saint Germain, tonight’s Champions League clash between Monaco and PSV could also have a big impact on United’s reported interest in Netherlands international Cody Gakpo.
The 23-year-old is keen on a move to Manchester United if a deal can be agreed, according to ESPN.
The seven-time Netherlands international is valued at around £35 million by the Dutch giants and United would have to likely meet that asking price in order to sign the versatile forward.
But if Van Nistelrooy’s side get knocked out against the Ligue 1 side, the Eredivisie powerhouses may be willing to accept a slightly reduced fee for their talisman in order to offset the cost of missing out on Champions League qualification.
Regardless of who progresses in tonight’s tie it looks like it could have huge bearing on Manchester United’s summer transfer plans.
