Maxi Oyedele praised

Maxi Oyedele now has three goals in nine appearances on loan for Altrincham. He is proving a valuable part of their squad in the second half of the season.

The FA Youth Cup winner’s impact was praised by manager Phil Parkinson, who hailed Oyedele’s leadership qualities.

Parkinson told Altrincham’s website: “Maxi, inspirational when he came on in terms of driving us forward, organising people.

“Great leadership qualities for an 18-year-old [it] was brilliant to see. He galvanised us… Maxi, outstanding.”

Oyedele has trained with Manchester United’s first team already and is a Poland under-18s international.

He could be a player to keep an eye on in pre-season, he will certainly return with added confidence.

Parkinson’s comments on his leadership skills will intrigue Erik ten Hag as much as his talent. The manager wants players with personality, and Oyedele is currently stepping up to the task at hand.
