Matheus Cunha has made his dream a reality by signing for Manchester United this summer.
The transfer window wasn’t opened very long when Manchester United struck an agreement to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
United confirmed Cunha as a new signing on Friday in a deal worth £62.5 million.
Cunha is expected to start under Ruben Amorim in one of the No. 10 roles, although that is not stopping United from targeting Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo.
After playing for clubs like RB Leipzig and Atletico Madrid in the past, Cunha knows that it takes to play for a big club. He also arrives at Old Trafford with experience from playing in the Premier League.
The Brazil international arrives from Wolves on a five-year contract and reports suggest he turned down interest from Newcastle United.

Dream comes true for Matheus Cunha
Cunha hasn’t been a United player for a week, and we’ve already got an interview with United’s new signing.
The Brazilian stresses that his eagerness to join United was not lessened by the fact the team endured a disappointing season in 2024/25.
Cunha says it was an easy decision to join United because the club has always been his goal as a footballer.
“It is the most common phrase that you can say at this moment, but this is the dream come true” Cunha told ManUtd.com.
“Maybe outside, I think maybe my decision, they don’t understand. But when you have always dreamed to play here, it’s easier to pick this decision.
“For me, no-one else is like United. Of course, I know it’s been a hard season for everyone. I think my decision shows what this club is for me, and what I believe this club can be.”
Cunha explains how he watched Man Utd as a child
It wasn’t easy for Cunha to keep up to date with United during his childhood.
In his teenage years, Cunha and his cousin would visit their grandmother because she had the channel to show Premier League matches.
In an interview with club media, Cunha explained that it was difficult to explain how happy he was to join the club.
Cunha also revealed how his love for United was passed on by his cousin.
“It is hard to find a way to explain this club for me,” Cunha said.
“My house didn’t have the channel to watch the Premier League. My cousin’s house didn’t have the channel. He’s older than me and he supports United and he showed me the way, to start to watch the Premier League and to need to support United.
“Only in my grandma’s house, we can watch the Premier League, so we organised to go every weekend.
“And for me, it was always a bit inside of me, this club. When I play with him in the street, on the beach, on the gravel pitch, we called these pitches ‘Old Trafford’. Imagine!
“So, wow, it’s so hard to be here now, thinking about the past — it’s very emotional for me.”
United fans will have to wait until pre-season to see Cunha in action for United.
