Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag faces a pivotal few days as he looks to truly quieten the lingering speculation around his position.
Erik ten Hag came through the international break with his job at Manchester United still in tact.
There were rumours of an Ineos meeting to discuss Ten Hag’s future but no change was made.
Ten Hag responded with a come-from-behind win over Brentford on Saturday, recovering from a goal down to win the game 2-1.
United now turn the attention to the Europa League as Ten Hag takes his side to face Fenerbahce on Thursday night.
United have struggled in the Europa League so far, only managing a draw against Twente before a bonkers 3-3 draw at Porto, and Ten Hag needs a result in Turkiye before heading to West Ham United in the Premier League this weekend.

Massimiliano Allegri stance on Manchester United job
Managers continue to be linked with the United job as Ten Hag battles for his future.
Former Barcelona boss Xavi is understood to have been contacted by United through intermediaries.
Another name can now be added though as TEAMtalk’s Rudy Galetti claims that Massimiliano Allegri is keen on the job.
It’s stated that Allegri believes that he can make a huge difference at Old Trafford and take the club forward without making huge signings.
Allegri feels that United’s squad is already strong enough to compete and thinks his influence can make a serious difference.
Allegri is described as having ‘admirers’ inside Old Trafford, putting him in contention with Ineos should Ten Hag go any time soon.
Praised for his ‘brilliant ideas’ on the official Juventus website, Allegri won five consecutive league titles in his first spell with Juventus.
Allegri also reached two Champions League finals with Juve but lost them both before leaving the club in 2019.
Allegri’s return to Turin in 2021 wasn’t quite as successful but still managed to finish third in Serie A last season.
United squad have Serie A links
The report highlights that Allegri is attracted to the Serie A flavour of the United squad.
United have a whole host of players who have previously featured in Serie A and Allegri seemingly feels that his pragmatic style can mesh well with that hose players experienced in Italy.
Andre Onana and Christian Eriksen have both turned out for Inter Milan whilst Diogo Dalot spent time with their rivals AC Milan.
Matthijs de Ligt played under Allegri at Juventus whilst Bruno Fernandes, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have played for Udinese, Atalanta and Bologna respectively.
Ten Hag has been focused on a transition-heavy approach at United and Allegri would seemingly want something similar but being much more solid defensively.
We would love to see Ten Hag turn things around in the long term but he needs results – and the availability of a manager like Allegri certainly offers another option for Ineos if they want to make a change.
