Manchester United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka will hope his impressive home record against Burnley earns him his second start of the season.

The 33-year-old was Erik ten Hag’s sixth and final summer signing having joined on a season-long loan from Newcastle United.

With the former Ajax manager opting to play first choice keeper David de Gea in the Europa League, Dubravka had to wait until November to make his Red Devils debut.

The Slovakian international made his Reds bow in our 4-2 win against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup third-round last month.

And having played the full 90 minutes in United’s 4-2 mid-World Cup friendly defeat to Cadiz in Spain, the 30-time Slovak international will be hoping his impressive home record against the Turf Moor side sees him get the mod over De Gea.

Dubravka is yet to concede a goal against Burnley when playing at home.

During his three matches against the Clarets at St James’ Park, the Magpies registered three clean sheets and won two out of the three matches.

Dubravka’s overall record against Burnley stands at five wins, one loss and one draw from seven appearances.

It’s highly unlikely that Ten Hag will take up the option of signing Dubravka on a permanent deal come the end of his loan spell.

But with Dean Henderson reportedly intent on not returning to United, following the conclusion of his season-long loan with Nottingham Forest, the twenty-time league champions’ goalkeeping department could undergo an overhaul.
