Manchester United are ‘set to sign’ Martin Dubravka from Newcastle United with a full agreement reached, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Dubravka has agreed to join on loan with a £5 million buy option. He is set to undergo a medical with Manchester United on Tuesday.

Romano also reports Antony has just landed in England and could begin undergoing his medical tonight.

Martin Dubravka deal agreed

Dubravka strengthens Manchester United’s goalkeeping options behind David de Gea. The Slovakian international started 26 Premier League games for Newcastle last season.

He since lost his place to Nick Pope and is ready to make the loan switch to Old Trafford, with Manchester United opting for a temporary option to strengthen the team.

United have essentially deferred a long term decision on goalkeeper to next summer, when David de Gea’s current contract is set to expire, although there is a 12-month extension option. Dean Henderson is out on loan.

One or both of young goalkeepers Matej Kovar and Nathan Bishop are expected to head out on loan.

United have also announced an agreement to send Hannibal Mejbri on loan to Birmingham City for the season.

It is unclear if United’s incoming transfer deals will end with Antony and Martin Dubravka, or if there will be one or two more surprises left.
