Speaking on Rio Ferdinand Presents, Diogo Dalot admitted that he felt that Martial stood out in his eyes more than Marcus Rashford for one all-important reason.
“Rashford could be anything that he wants, also,” he told Rio Ferdinand.
“But I put Anthony [in the team] and I don’t put Rashford because, in training, at the top, Anthony was a little bit different. And he could do everything.”

Michael Carrick was in the tail end of his prolific playing spell at Old Trafford when Martial was brought to England from French side Monaco in 2015.

“You know, Carrick said to me when he first signed that Martial could win the Ballon d’Or,” he said.
Responding to Ferdinand’s admission, Dalot added: “As soon as I came, I would believe that.
“In training, he could do things that you’d say you had to stop training. You know, those moments where you say […] you want to blow the whistle and say, ‘Okay, let’s go inside.’
“And I had a few. I remember Juan Mata also had those things of quality.”
Martial was the most expensive teenage footballer in the world at the time that he signed for United, with the Red Devils agreeing a deal worth £58m to land him.
