Marcus Rashford has sent Anthony Martial a message following his return to the Manchester United side as they beat Everton 2-0 at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils put in a convincing performance against Sean Dyche’s side as they further cemented their Champions League push with a 2-0 win against the Toffee’s.

Scott Mctominay scored first for United in a first half that showcased a barrage of United attacks, but a returning Martial all but sealed the three points in the second half when he dispatched a one-on-one following a Rashford pass after a Seamus Coleman mistake.

Rashford and Martial have always had a good relationship on the pitch, but the two had an exchange after the game which cemented their comradery to United fans not just as teammates, but as good friends as well.

Rashford sends Martial a message following United win

Rashford took to Instagram to send the returning Frech striker a message that evidently shows the great relationship between the pair.

‘Welcome back’ the caption reads, noting the significant absence Martial has spent on the sidelines due to his injury history record.

It’s apparent that United have missed Martial’s goalscoring qualities. Wout Weghorst has been the striker to fill in for Martial in his absence but has struggled to find the net in most of his appearances.

Martial made an instant impact following his second-half substitution. He perfectly finished a chance passed a sublime Jordan Pickford which all but ensured United the three points.

Martial has proven time and time again that he is a phenomenal finisher, but fans often ask the question as to whether the 27-year-old can stay injury free in order to prove a long-term option at Old Trafford.

Nevertheless – it’s great to see Martial scoring goals again, and we hope that his track record in the medical tent is now a thing of the past.
