Manchester United’s players are overjoyed after booking a return to Wembley with a FA Cup semi-final win.
Penalties were required to separate Manchester United and Brighton after a 0-0 draw over 120 minutes without a clear cut chance for either side.
United won 7-6 in the shootout and will return to Wembley in early June for the FA Cup final against rivals Manchester City.
With the Carabao Cup already in the bag already, United are looking to win a domestic double in Erik ten Hag‘s first season.

United players react
Manchester United players were busy on social media after the win and Marcus Rashford was very complimentary about opponents Brighton.
Rashford wrote on Instagram: “What a tense game against a very good opponent. Well done to all involved in helping us over the line to reach another final.”
Casemiro is already looking forward to the next game, commenting: “Into the final!! Wembley here we come again!!”
Goalkeeper David de Gea added: “Absolute determination from the team today – a big victory to get us into another final.”
Brighton pushed United hard and there was nothing to separate the two teams after the 120 minutes.
Both teams had 15 shots at goal, with United managing six on target to Brighton’s five. Brighton had more possession from 61 per cent, but this was to be somewhat expected after the Red Devils’ match in Spain just three days earlier.
United hoped to come through this week still alive in two cup competitions. Instead there is only one left to win.
While disappointing, it could easily have been worse. There is a huge challenge ahead to beat Manchester City, but it is a game we can really look forward to, and will keep this season alive and kicking into early June.
