Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford was full of praise for teammate Jude Bellingham following England’s crucial win over Italy at Wembley Stadium.
Marcus Rashford gave his country the lead on the night with a rifled finish past Gianluigi Donnarumma in the Italy goal, and it was almost redemption for the penalty miss in the final of the competition in 2021.
Performances like last night will do the forward the world of good but, in the build-up to his rifled finish, it was superb play first from Manchester City’s Phil Foden and then Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham.
The young midfielder, who is continuing to show why the world is so excited about him, was magnificent on the night and Rashford was full of praise for the Madrid man.

Rashford on Bellingham
Speaking to the BBC after the win, the Manchester United forward was full of praise for Bellingham and it’s hard to disagree with the forward’s assessment.
“He is an unbelievable player, not just his quality but he is full of energy,” Rashford enthused. “He is a joy to play with. He didn’t score today but you can see his huge influence, going forwards especially.”
It was perhaps spoken with a tinge of sadness from the United forward, as the pair were so close to playing together for United under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
United’s Bellingham miss
Back in 2020, when the hype around the teenager from Birmingham was beginning to take off, it was a two-horse race between United and Borussia Dortmund.
United, under Solskjaer, tried their best to woo the midfielder and his family but it was the German side who seduced him with the guarantee of first-team opportunities; something that the Red Devils could not match.
The Red Devils have had plenty of near misses over the years, but losing out on the teenage midfielder may well hurt them the most and prove to be the most costly mishap.
