Manchester United’s young players welcome Toby Collyer to the club

Toby Collyer’s move to Manchester United has been made official. The youngster was pictured signing a contract at the club on Instagram.

Fabrizio Romano wrote Collyer has signed a three and a half year deal, leaving Brighton and Hove Albion behind.

Collyer had impressed on trial at United last month, The Mail reported, and with that, he has already to know his new teammates.

After announcing his deal, United’s FA Youth Cup stars flocked to welcome the incoming midfielder to the club.

The messages speak to the team unity in the club’s academy and Collyer will joining a talented group.

It’s unclear whether he will be able to play right away, but he will be at Carrington with the team, working with the coaches behind the scenes.

Collyer, 18, is a defensive midfielder whose strong rate has been praised by Brighton under-18s coach Mark Beard, who told Sussex Live: “You want 11 of these type of players in the team. You know what you’re going to get in training, he works hard, he wants to improve, he’s intelligent. He’s a good all-round kid.”

“As defensive midfielders go, and it is quite a disciplined role, he is probably the best in the country at doing it.”

The Mail reported he rejected interest from Chelsea to agree terms with Manchester United.

Collyer will be able to help players who have welcomed him, like attacking stars Garnacho, Joe Hugill and Ethan Ennis. I he is successful in controlling games, he will make their jobs easier.
